Nov 5th-6th Melbourne Cup We will be closed on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th November for the Melbourne Cup.  We will re-open on Wednesday 7th November.
October 2018 New opening hours for Colac Healthcare & Rehab

From October 2018 Colac Healthcare & Rehab will be open on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30am to 4:00 pm.

16th August 2018 Training Day We will once again be hosting an education day on Thursday 16th August.  The day will consist of two sessions.  The morning session will be based on paediatrics and the afternoon session power and seating.  Amy Bjornson from Sunrise will be presenting.  Amy is a extremely knowledgable and entertaining speaking.  If you are interested in registering for the day send us an email to info@geelongwheelchairs.com.au and we will add you to the mailing list.

Education Day -

Geelong Wheelchairs

Content Overview:

This workshop provides valuable information to therapists involved in the assessment, prescription and funding processes of seating and wheelchair prescription.We will take the process from the beginning: including client assessment and postural mat evaluation.We’ll address funding considerations, compromises and providing solutions for abnormal postures.Learn how to prescribe and configure manual wheelchairs to maximize independence, function and long term health and avoid overuse injuries – for both children and adults. 

~Consider the various power wheelchair options: from simple thru to complex wheelchairs including chairs with multiple power seating systems.  We’ll also explore power add –on and power assist options, which clients will benefit and the considerations required.   Be Ready - this course is jam-packed with hands on learning opportunities.    At the end of this workshop, participants will feel confident in assessing and prescribing seating systems which promote comfortable, attainable & functional postures.

My Special Child Conference

 We will be an exhibitor at the My Special Child conference being held in Geelong on the 24th & 25th March.  Seating is limited for the conference and bookings can be made online www.myspecialchildonline.com/events 

The conference will feature a range of exhibitors and expert speakers who will help parents and carers within the special needs community with simple stategies to imrove, educate and empower themselves and their children.  This conference is suitable for parents, carers and teachers of children with special needs, learning difficulities and challenging behaviours.

8/10/16 Garage Sale We are currently clearing our warehouse of excess, superseded and x-hire equipment.  Saturday 8th October from 10:00am, with a free sausage sizzle.  Come and check out the bargins and find that something you have been wanting.  Our range of product available is varied, from walking sticks and 4 wheel walkers to higher needs items and many in between.

8/9/2016 Training Day

Advance seating and Active Controls. Morning Session: The morning session will cover wheelchair seating solutions, presented by Amy Bjornson from Sunrise Medical.  Amy is a knowledgeable and engaging speaker with a wealth of experience.  She brilliantly translates practical solutions to complex seating issues.

Afternoon Session: We are very excited to present Active Controls in the afternoon session.  Active Controls are a new product presented at both the International Seating Symposium in Canada and ATSA.  They offer fantastic options for alternate driving controls.  We'll be able to experience thru trial the multiple options available.  Programming, set up and the advantages of these innovative systems will be discussed.

32nd Seating Symposium Canada

Vicky & Kylie will be attending this years symposium. 

This international symposium addresses current and future developments in the areas of seating, positioning and mobility. Topic areas include service delivery, product development, research and outcomes. The format for the symposium will include pre-symposium, plenary, instructional, paper and poster sessions. Extensive opportunities will be provided for networking with colleagues.

Labour Day

We will be closed on Monday 14th for Labour Day.

Labour Day has its origins in the labour union movement, specifically the  movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest.
